Chelsea might regret Christian Pulisic transfer after crucial details emerge

Christian Pulisic has already demonstrated one important reason why Chelsea will regret acquiring him.

Christian Pulisic’s move to Italy was finalized earlier in the transfer window, and AC Milan is already feeling the ‘Christian Pulisic’ effect.

Christian Pulisic has already made a significant impact at AC Milan.

After concluding his £15 million ($19.4 million) transfer from Chelsea to AC Milan at the end of June, Christian Pulisic has adapted well to life in Italy.

The former Chelsea star joined Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the capital, bringing to an end his four difficult years at Stamford Bridge. Pulisic, a 20-year-old destined for greatness in Europe, was acquired by the club for £58 million ($74 million).

The 24-year-old cost Milan three times less than Chelsea paid Borussia Dortmund after 145 appearances, 26 goals, and 21 assists. The transfer affords the USMNT star the chance to reestablish himself at the highest level, and he is expected to play a significant role in Stefano Piolo’s squad next season.

“The main reason that prompted me to come here is to be able to restart and reach the top level,” he said. “I haven’t been able to express myself at my best in recent seasons at Chelsea, but now I’ve moved on and I want to get back to my level.”

During his tenure in England, Chelsea benefited from Pulisic’s strong American support. Now, AC Milan are relishing the massive support the USMNT player has in the United States.

Pulisic, according to journalist Joe Pompliano, is already contributing financially to Milan. In relation to Pulisic’s arrival, the club’s social media posts received 46 million impressions and 17 million video views.

The AC Milan team store’s merchandise and financial transactions increased by a staggering 266% overnight. In fact, ‘Captain America’s’ influence is so great that the club’s US customer base, which is typically around 9% of their overall sales, increased to 43% 23 hours after his transfer from Chelsea, with 90% of all customised Pulisic jerseys being sold to American customers.

According to the YouGov Football Index, AC Milan is the eighth largest club in the United States – larger than PSG, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus – having risen two spots in the last year since RedBird Capital took control. Pulisic’s transfer to the club could be the deciding factor in their rise to the top of the American soccer scene.
