Chelsea Have 3 Alternatives to Caicedo and a keeper on Their Wishlist

Moises Caicedo, a star midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion, will cost Chelsea a hefty transfer fee, so the west London club has alternatives in mind.

The Blues are also seeking to acquire a goalkeeper. Meanwhile, a £2 billion redevelopment of Stamford Bridge appears imminent.

The saga-like pursuit of the Ecuadorian international by Chelsea has taken another turn.

It appears that the English capital club’s £70 million offer is insufficient to acquire Caicedo.

Brighton will not budge if they have a price in mind and a wealthy team is intent on acquiring their player.

And credit to them for being a lesser team.

Supposedly, the Blues will return with £10 million in additional funds.

Is the athlete deserving of this price? I am unsure if he would be a decent addition to Stamford Bridge at those prices, but he would be a good addition in general.

If CFC cannot secure the services of the Ecuadorian this summer, they may try again in January 2024. Or, if rejected, they may return in a year; the youthful footballer is only 21 years old.

Alternately, one could target various athletes. Chelsea reportedly has three options in mind, including Rayan Cherki, Gabri Veiga, and Romeo Lavia.

According to the same article, Mauricio Pochettino is also seeking a new goalkeeper.

Apparently, Chelsea is moving closer to a £2 billion Stamford Bridge renovation.

The current Blues ownership’s reported proposal to acquire a £50 million’site of homes for military veterans’ close to the Fulham Road stadium has been approved.

During Roman Abramovich’s tenure as chairman, redevelopment plans for the stadium first surfaced.

The consortium of Todd Boehly, the current chair, has pledged funds for future projects.

The enlargement of the Bridge is likely to excite supporters the most.

However, the prospect of spending four years away from home while the 40,341-person capacity is expanded will not suit any of them.
