For the third consecutive transfer window, Chelsea Football Club has been among the most active clubs in the market.

After a lengthy period in which it appeared that Todd Boehly was selling virtually every player who was desired elsewhere, the Blues have begun acquiring new players this summer.

In order to remain in compliance with Financial Fair Play, Stamford Bridge was forced to conduct a fire sale after the club spent the previous two transfer windows acquiring talent.

With one week to go until the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season, things have calmed down somewhat for Mauricio Pochettino, but Chelsea are still in the equation where deals are concerned.

Moises Caicedo of Brighton and Hove Albion is a player that they have attempted to recruit but have been unsuccessful thus far.

There is still time to close the deal, but the Blues will need to meet Brighton’s substantial asking price, which is believed to be as high as £100 million.

In the interim, the west Londoners have signed Robert Sanchez, a goalkeeper from Brighton, to a seven-year contract.

The 25-year-old Spaniard will provide Kepa Arrizabalaga with competition between the posts, keeping both players on their mettle throughout the entire season.

In a campaign devoid of European football, Pochettino’s Blues might just astonish people.
