Kenyans have been informed that two groups of teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have the same grade, are in the same duties, and face the same difficulties, but are paid differently. According to a report released by the local media, Charles Nguna, a member of parliament for Mwingi West, has revealed a wage disparity that certified teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission are compelled to bear in the provision of their services.

Nguna stated that the issue between the tutors and their employer, the Teacher’s Service Commission (TSC), began before the 2017 collective bargaining agreement (CBA), entailing almost 1000 teachers.
According to additional information, the instructors were employed as headteachers under Job category M after undergoing interviews for Senior Graduate Teacher jobs. In 2018, this position will be redesignated to group C5. The legislator claims that there are significant inconsistencies where some senior graduate teachers have the position of headteachers while others with the same grade remain in job group C5 rather than job group D1.
