CA Seizes Gituamba FM for Illegally Operating; Owner Arrested.

Ezra Chiloba, Director General of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), has shut down a radio station after raiding its premises in Tena Estate, Nairobi.
The authority stated that it had shut down Gituamba FM, a Kikuyu vernacular radio station based at Puma Court within the estate.
CA stated in a statement released on Tuesday, December 7, that the station was operating illegally because its owner failed to obtain a license and other relevant documents.

Gituamba FM’s demise comes just days after Chiloba barred SASA TV from broadcasting live coverage of its events. Pastor James Ng’ang’a TV’s Neno Evangelism Centre owns and manages SASA TV.
