Barcelona Open to €17m Sale of Manchester United Target, Uniquely Positioning Transfer Opportunities
FC Barcelona is prepared to sell Sergino Dest to Manchester United for a nominal fee. Manchester United was previously interested in the player.
According to Mundo Deportivo (via Manchester Evening News), FC Barcelona is willing to sell Sergino Dest for a nominal fee, and Manchester United is reportedly intrigued.
Dest was one of Erik Ten Hag’s primary targets when he attempted to transfer right-back Aaron Wan Bissaka after he failed to impress.
Wan Bissaka, who improved his performance and was preferable to Diogo Dalot in the second half of the season, deserves credit.

His resurgence and Dalot’s sustained development have allowed United to shelve plans for a new fullback in favor of more pressing needs.
The current situation of USMNT international Dest at Barcelona could challenge Ten Hag’s determination to bring him to Old Trafford.
Now, he could be available for a fee as low as €17 million, which could entice many clubs in search of a fullback.
Ten Hag is familiar with Dest’s attributes due to their time spent together at Ajax. His move to Barcelona and subsequent loan move to AC Milan were unsuccessful, and he may be seeking a new move to revive his career.

Last season, Manchester United had Sergino Dest on their radar.
Fulham and Crystal Palace have also shown interest in the player, and it remains to be seen whether the club will pursue him after engaging in lengthy negotiations with Inter Milan and Atalanta for Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund, respectively.
While right-back is not currently a priority for United, that could change if Ten Hag determines that one of Dalot or Wan-Bissaka needs to be traded.
Currently, it is unlikely that the club will pursue Dest, but that could change once the club’s primary transfer window objectives have been met.
