Arsenal Reveals Bronze Statue of Arsene Wenger at Emirates Stadium

Wenger is the sixth Arsenal legend to have a statue in front of Emirates Stadium.
A bronze statue of legendary former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been unveiled in front of Emirates Stadium.
During his tenure between 1996 and 2018, he led Arsenal to three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups.
The statue outside of the North Bank Stand depicts a Frenchman hoisting the Premier League trophy.
On Wednesday, the 73-year-old will be a guest of honor at Arsenal’s home friendly against another of his former clubs, Monaco.
Wenger, who now works for Fifa, is so synonymous with Arsenal’s recent past that last season’s title challenge and second-place finish under Mikel Arteta is their best Premier League season without Wenger in command.
He managed 1,235 matches at Arsenal, most notably supervising the only undefeated Premier League season during Arsenal’s 2003-04 championship run.
He led them to the Champions League for twenty years in a row. Since the 1991-92 European Cup, next season will be their first season in the competition without Wenger at the helm.
Tim Lewis, executive vice-chairman of Arsenal, stated, “Arsène’s contributions and accomplishments with the club distinguish him as the club’s greatest manager.
“He treated the club and its supporters to many trophies and fantastic memories and brought a revolution in the running of the club, an unbeaten season and the move to Emirates Stadium.
“It is fitting, therefore, that as a mark of the club’s enduring respect and gratitude a magnificent statue of Arsene now stands outside Emirates Stadium.”
He joined Tony Adams, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Herbert Chapman, and Ken Friar in having a statue outside the stadium.
Wenger recruited Arsenal manager Arteta as a player in 2011. Arteta stated:
“It’s such a great tribute that the club has done something special for Arsene that he fully deserves and merits.
“With a statue now at the stadium, Arsene can have that recognition and be here at our club forever.
“He chose me to be one of his players and selected me to be the captain of the club and that’s something I will never forget.”
