Arsenal Nearing Completion of Negotiations for 29-Year-Old Player with Official Offer Submitted
Nottingham Forest has reportedly submitted a formal offer for Matt Turner, whose departure from Arsenal is imminent.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have made their initial formal offer for Matt Turner, the reserve goalkeeper for Arsenal.
The USMNT international, considered surplus to requirements at the Emirates, is the subject of ongoing negotiations with Arsenal for a permanent transfer.
Following Dean Henderson’s return to Manchester United from a season-long loan at the City Ground, Steve Cooper’s club is in the market for a goalkeeper.
The same is true for PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who was brought in as a stopgap after Henderson’s injury and has now returned to the French capital.
Now that they have secured their Premier League status, Forest desires to sign their own goalkeeper rather than relying on loans again.
Forest were rumored to be interested in bringing Henderson back to the City Ground; however, they are now contemplating taking advantage of a market opportunity by signing Arsenal’s Turner for a relatively affordable fee.
Turner joined Arsenal last summer, concluding his eight-year tenure with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.
However, he endured a frustrating spell in north London, playing second fiddle to Aaron Ramsdale, the team’s starting goalkeeper.
Nottingham Forest is interested in acquiring Matt Turner from Arsenal and Dean Henderson from Manchester United.
All parties are motivated to complete both transactions.

In that time, the 29-year-old has made only seven appearances for the Gunners, all of which have been in the Europa League or FA Cup, so he has yet to play in the Premier League.
Arsenal is eager to acquire David Raya from Brentford as quality competition for Ramsdale and has already submitted an official offer to the club.
The prospective arrival of Raya could have a domino effect on Turner’s future at the Emirates, as the USMNT goalkeeper does not want to fall behind Aaron Ramsdale and the Spaniard in the pecking order.
The American goalkeeper is a full-fledged member of the USMNT and is now regarded as the country’s number one after dominating in both the Gold Cup and CONCACAF Nations League, which the United States won.
With renewed interest in Turner and advanced negotiations, it was assumed that Forest had moved on from Henderson.
However, according to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, Steve Cooper wants to acquire two quality goalkeepers.
The Garibaldi perceive Henderson as their first-choice player and would make a move for Turner before the transfer window closes.
Forest’s upcoming season will be all about progression.
Henderson is a tremendous talent, whereas Turner has extensive experience on the main stage.
And by signing both Turner and Henderson for their goalkeeping unit, they would send a clear message of intent to the teams in their vicinity.
