As the Gunners seek to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s options, they may acquire a player from a rival.
Arsenal re-established contact with Kai Havertz over the weekend, and the German forward reaffirmed his desire to join the North London club.

This summer, the Gunners will have the opportunity to expand upon their successful 2022/23 season in north London.
Manchester City clinched the Premier League title ahead of Mikel Arteta’s squad, who lacked sufficient firepower to finish off their title bid.

“He has a personal contract with Arsenal, so everything is ready on the player’s end.”
How many goals did Havertz score during the previous season?
The previous season was a disappointing one for the Blues, and Havertz cannot be excused for their failures.
Despite playing the majority of the season as their center forward, Havertz was only able to score seven Premier League goals for the west London club (via Transfermarkt).
Chelsea started the majority of the 2022-23 season without a designated striker, as evidenced by their subpar goal-scoring performance.
It must also be questioned whether Havertz has done enough to warrant a transfer to a Premier League title contender.
The Gunners will play in the Champions League next season, while Havertz scored just two goals in 10 Champions League appearances for Chelsea last season (according to Transfermarkt).
