Arsenal in action as preseason games commence

In preparation for Gameweek 1, we will provide Scout Notes for every Premier League club’s preseason friendly this summer.

As preferable formations, preferred personnel, injury concerns, and form assets become apparent, these articles will become increasingly detailed and useful.

We are also keeping track of the minutes played in each of these preseason matches; however, only Premium Members of Fantasy Football Scout have access to this information at the bottom of this article.

It is essential to note that during this period of the summer, a large number of academy graduates receive ample playing time. This is true once again this year, as players on international duty in June were granted a delayed break, and the majority of them have not participated in the earliest preseason friendlies.

Arsenal 1-1 Westminster

    Goals: Marquinhos

    Assists: Cozier-Duberry

Highlights are listed here

On Saturday, Arsenal regulars Ben White (£5.5m), Gabriel Magalhes (£5.0m), and Gabriel Jesus (£8.0m) participated in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Watford.

Based on the available footage, Jesus played on the right side of the attack, while Eddie Nketiah (£5.5 million) ran through the middle.

After their participation in the June internationals, international players such as Bukayo Saka (£8.5m), Kai Havertz (£7.5m), and Martin Odegaard (£8.5m) were permitted to return to preseason training a little later and were not involved. As a result, there was a mixture of first-team players and newcomers on the pitch.

Gabriel Martinelli (£8.0m), William Saliba (£5.0m), Takehiro Tomiyasu (£4.5m), and Oleksandr Zinchenko (£5.0m) have all been spotted back in training in a variety of forms over the last week, which appears to be positive news on that front.

“And now I can’t wait to play again. I’m so, so hungry to play on. I can’t wait to be on the pitch.

“I had a little break and after I went to Marbella to do my rehab with the staff. It was good but of course I was waiting for the pre-season.

“I’m so, so, so hungry because I didn’t play for four months and I didn’t help my team. So I hope I won’t have an injury this season, I want to be here all this season with the team.” – William Saliba

Marquinhos (£4.5m) scored the only goal for Arsenal against Watford after an Amario Cozier-Duberry strike was parried.

Arsenal eleven: Okonkwo (Hillson HT), White (Norton-Cuffy 60′), Magalhes (Walter HT), Holding (Kirk 60′), Soares (Sousa HT), Bandeira (Oulad-M’Hand HT), Lewis-Skelly (Henry-Francis HT), Trossard (Cozier-Duberry HT), Jesus (Biereth HT, Sagoe Jr.

VITORIA SC 1-2 WOLVES

    Goals: Cunha, Farmer

    Assists: Sarabia

BURNLEY 3-2 FLEETWOOD TOWN

    Goals: Rodriguez, Davies, Mellon

BURNLEY 1-0 BURTON ALBION

    Goal: Socoliche

We have grouped the aforementioned three matches together because they were all behind-closed-doors friendlies for which lineup information was unavailable.

Similarly, very little footage from any of the contests exists.

On the first day of July, Burnley kicked off preseason play with a 3-2 victory over Fleetwood Town, with Jay Rodriguez (£5.5m) scoring for the defending champions.

The Clarets assert that each half featured a distinct lineup.

A week later, Basilio Rieno Socoliche, a recent academy recruit, scored a late winner against Burton Albion.

Again, no information was provided about the athletes involved.

The Wolves opened their preseason training program in Portugal with a 2-1 victory over Vitoria.

Only Matheus Cunha’s tap-in from a Pablo Sarabia (£5.0m) pass/cross is currently available from this match.

Wolves have long-term absentees Chiquinho (£4.5m) and Sasa Kalajdzic (£5.0m) with them in Iberia, two signings from the summer of 2022 whose participation in the most recent season was cut short by severe injury.
