Arsenal Faces Tough Competition in Transfer Pursuit of Rising Bundesliga Youngster
The Shields Gazette reports that Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Juventus are all interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom.
Since joining the Bundesliga club from Brondby in 2021, the 23-year-old Danish international has excelled, netting 15 goals in 65 appearances.
He was also a member of the Eintracht team that defeated Rangers to win the Europa League in 2021/22.
Newcastle has reportedly been observing Lindstrom for several months and is willing to pay £30 million to acquire him.
However, they now face competition for the midfielder from Juventus, who are also interested.
Arsenal has also been linked to Lindstrom, and the player has acknowledged in the past that he would be interested in a move to the Premier League, as reported by The Shields Gazette and Tipsbladet.
“It’s always great to play in the biggest league in the world,” Lindstrom said in an interview last year. “Whether Arsenal is right for me is hard to say.
Right now, I’m in a good place in Frankfurt, but it’s great that there are clubs like them that are watching me.
Something may have to happen at some point, but right now I’m fine.”
This summer, Lindstrom is certain to be a highly sought-after player on the transfer market.
A Simple Arsenal Opinion
Lindstrom appears to be a talented individual, but with moneybags Newcastle and Juventus interested, this may be a transfer that the club cannot complete.
Nevertheless, nothing surprises me when it comes to Arsenal and transfers, so perhaps this is one to keep a watch on.
