Arsenal Already in Contact to Secure €35m Bundesliga Star – Report
Arsenal and Liverpool are ‘already in contact’ with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign midfielder Jesper Lindstrom, according to Ekstra Bladet (page 43).
The Gunners have already strengthened their midfield with the additions of Kai Havertz and Declan Rice this summer, but the club is still investigating potential additions.
Lindstrom has been linked to the club for a number of months, and Ekstra Bladet claims Eintracht would be compelled to sell him if a sufficient offer were presented.
The Bundesliga club is reportedly looking to pay between €50 and €55 million for him if there is a great deal of competition for his services.
Arsenal and Liverpool have previously conducted discussions with the German side. His admirers also include Newcastle, Tottenham, RB Leipzig, Juventus, Inter Milan, and Napoli.
Arsenal is unlikely to add another attacking midfielder to its roster.
Martin Odegaard is presently the undisputed starter at number 10 for Arsenal.
The Norwegian sensation was outstanding in the premier league last year with 15 goals and eight assists.
Behind him, the club has players such as Fabio Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe, who barely featured in the Premier League during the 2022–2023 campaign.
In September of last year, Vieira scored a magnificent long-range goal in a 3-0 victory over Brentford, but he only played 499 minutes for the entire season.
Smith Rowe recorded only 161 minutes, as his recovery from groin surgery required considerable time. He will attempt to make reparations during this season.
Both athletes have something to prove in the future. Arsenal is unlikely to invest heavily in Lindstrom, who is primarily an attacking midfielder, in our opinion.
