Apply for Internship Positions At Ministry of Education (MoE)
The State Department for Basic Education, a part of the Ministry of Education (MoE), has unveiled 1,000 internship opportunities within the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP), Cohort 3.
In an announcement made on Tuesday, September 5th, the ministry outlined its intention to assign successful candidates to schools at the Sub County Level. There, these interns will not only gain hands-on skills and knowledge but will also play a pivotal role in supporting virtual learning and other digital platforms.
The notice indicated that the State Department would provide a stipend to the interns at a rate determined by the government. Upon successfully completing the non-renewable 12-month internship program, interns will receive a certificate from the State Department.
To qualify for this appointment, candidates must have graduated no earlier than 2019 and must be willing to be stationed at any Sub County Education office throughout the country on a full-time basis.

Applicants should possess either a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in Information Communication Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in ICT. Alternatively, they can have a Diploma in ICT or ICT Integration in Education from a recognized institution.
The ministry emphasized the need for applicants to be knowledgeable in networking and infrastructure, applications development, information security, and project management. Additionally, candidates should be capable of integrating ICT with education, particularly in terms of E-Learning and content development. Research and innovation skills to support the DLP are also highly valued.
The responsibilities of the interns include supporting E-Learning and content development in alignment with the schemes of work, providing assistance and training to Primary School teachers in the use of digital literacy devices, aiding in the implementation of the Digital Learning Programme, fostering innovations to enhance the use of digital learning in schools, ensuring the safe, secure, and ethical use of technology in learning, integrating ICT into teaching, learning, and assessment, assisting school staff in developing and producing important school policies and procedures, and offering initial support and maintenance of ICT services in schools.
For those interested and qualified, applications must be submitted online through the Public Service Commission’s job portal, accessible via www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke. The deadline for application submissions is set for September 25th, 2023.
