Angry Manchester United fans express their verdict on Mason after charges against him dropped
ANGRY Even though all criminal allegations against Mason Greenwood have been dismissed, Manchester United supporters claimed last night that he should be expelled.
Ian Stirling, a board member of the Supporters’ Trust of Manchester United, tweeted, “He should never play for us again.”
Yesterday, Greenwood expressed “relief” as prosecutors dropped all criminal allegations against him, including attempted rape.
The Crown Prosecution Service notified the Man United star that accusations of actual bodily injury and coercive or controlling behavior had also been dropped.
Twelve witnesses, including the woman at the center of the claims, had declined to cooperate.
The 21-year-old striker Greenwood stated, “I am relieved that this problem has been resolved and would like to thank my family, friends, and loved ones for their support.”
However, United officials have announced the club will conduct its own investigation into his behavior around the allegations, which surfaced online in January 2022.

Greenwood, who was suspended by the club after his arrest, will be unable to practice or play for the Red Devils for the remainder of his suspension.
A representative stated, “The club will now conduct its own investigation prior to choosing next steps.”
“We will not make any further comment until that process is complete.”
Last night, scores of United supporters pushed the club to release £100,000-per-week player Greenwood.
Others argued that they should continue to support him as he had not been convicted of a crime.
In January 2022, he was arrested after disturbing photographs, videos, and audio recordings were released to social media indicating he had physically abused a woman.
He was charged in October and his trial was scheduled for November.
The accusations were filed despite the claimed victim’s April 2022 statement to police that she no longer desired his prosecution and would not testify in court.
The police extended the investigation because she was a “sensitive victim.”
Last Friday, The Sun informed the CPS that we were aware of its difficulties in building a case.
Yesterday, at 2:00 p.m., when the conclusion of proceedings was announced, it was confirmed that our information was correct.
A representative for the Public Prosecution Service stated, “With the withdrawal of crucial witnesses and the discovery of additional evidence, there was no longer a realistic chance of conviction.”
“We have informed all parties of our choice.
“We would always encourage any potential victims to come forward and report to police and we will prosecute wherever our legal test is met.”
Greenwood has scored 35 goals in 129 United games and has one England cap.
He last played against West Ham on January 22 of last year.
Prior to his arrest, he was valued at approximately £50 million and considered one of the hottest new talents in European football.
