All candidates at a Nyamira private centre probed over KCSE Chemistry exam leakage. Principal Arrested

Authorities are investigating all the candidates except for one at a Nyamira examination center for allegedly accessing Chemistry exam leakage.

The private center at the Nyamira Secondary School has eight registered candidates registered sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

Security officers, the Ministry of Education, and Kenya National Examination Council officials seek to establish whether the leakage was genuine.

One of the KCSE candidates is said to have got the Chemistry questions on WhatsApp, wrote answers down on an exercise book, and gave the content to other students before the exam started at 7.27 am.

After the incident was reported, some people were arrested and taken to Nyamira and Manga police stations.

Among those arrested was the principal of Kiabiraa Secondary School, the exam supervisor, invigilators, and Chemistry teachers at the same school.

Nyamira County Commissioner Mr. Amos Mariba confirmed the occurrence and warned exam cheats that the long arm of the law will catch up with them.

“Candidates should report anyone who tries to confuse them to the authorities since they may face legal action and have their exam results canceled,” said Mariba.
