KUCCPS 2023/2024 first year Opening Dates
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has clarified that all the 2023/2024 first year student will report to their respective institutions starting September 2023.
The placement service will open this exercise to allow all 2022 KCSE Candidates who qualified for university placement to join to their universities of choice.

Misleading Information
The placement body, KUCCPS was forced to clarify this information following speculations that the reporting dates have been pushed back to May 2023.
“Government sponsored students will report in September and not May,” The placement body stated.
The placement body had further clarified that despite the joining dates have been set for September, the online application portal was yet to be opened.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service KUCCPS further stated that after the application, students will be allowed to revise their courses.
“The application process for the 2022 candidates is yet to start , the portal will be opened for revision of courses before transfer application,” stated KUCCPS.
The government body further indicated that they will provide the application guidelines during the transfer window.
Caution To General Public
The placement service has pleaded with the general public to avoid confusion and wait for the placement body to make official announcement through its official channels on social media and the website and also through the mainstream media.

During the application, candidate will be required to submit their official result slips and other required details by the placement body.
A junk of 173,345 candidate in 2022 managed to score a mean grade of C+ plus and above following the results released by the Education CS, Ezekiel Machogu in January this year. All these candidates are eligible for government sponsorship to universities.
Machogu also gave express orders to the Council of University Education (CUE) and other Technical and Vocational Education Training Colleges (TVETs) to collaborate and ensure that all the institutions are fully prepared to enroll new students.
Machogu further stated that those who did not meet the cut off mark, all is not lost as they can still join other tertiary institutions in the country.
