Government Announces Teaching Jobs For Kenyans In Djibouti

In an effort to include English into its courses, Kenya will send English teachers to Djibouti.

The teachers will promote English language instruction and its incorporation into Djibouti’s curricula in accordance with the agreement reached between President William Ruto and President Ismail Omar of Djibouti.

The participation of French language trainees from Djibouti will also aid Kenyan students in Technical and Vocational Education Training institutions and medical training institutes.

The President claimed that this will improve the linguistic skills of Kenyan graduates looking for work overseas.

The drafting of a framework for the mutual recognition of degrees produced by our different institutions of higher learning has also been agreed upon expeditiously, according to Ruto.

He continued, “I have informed the President that Kenya is offering Djiboutian students 300 spots in our higher education institutions at the same tuition rates as Kenyan students.

To attend the 14th Ordinary Assembly of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Ruto is in Djibouti.

It is anticipated that the summit would occur on June 12, 2023, and it will be the first IGAD summit since 2019.

It will stress how critical it is to foster regional diplomacy and collaboration.

The Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) between Kenya and Djibouti’s second session precedes the meeting between the two heads of state.

To better coordinate labour migration, Ruto and Omar decided to expedite the drafting and conclusion of a comprehensive labour agreement between the two nations.
