Disband CBC Taskforce And Order Crisis Meeting, Ruto Under Pressure

CBC Taskforce To Be Disbanded. Owing to the current crisis witnessed in Junior Secondary School (JSS), teachers under the KUPPET umbrella have urged the president to disband the taskforce committee and call for a crisis meeting.

Omboko Milembe, the KUPPET chair mounted this pressure so that the confusion that has been witnessed in the transition of grade 7 learners to junior Secondary can be addressed before the matter gets out of hand.

KUPPET has termed the decision to domicile Junior Secondary School in primary as misguided and has advised that these learners should be transfered to secondary schools.

Akello Misori, who is the KUPPET secretary General has noted that serious learning is yet to begin in schools even as the students are about to go for half term due to lack of enough human resource (Teachers) in the schools.

Misori further urged the decision to domicile Junior Secondary School in primary schools should be reverted very fast before the end of the holiday.

The Union has urged the ministry of education to hold a crisis meeting to discuss the way forward concerning this matter with all education stakeholders on board.

Stakeholders from other sectors have been urging the president to end the crisis in order to ensure smooth operations in the Junior Secondary Schools.

From the recommendations given by KNUT in 2022 November concerning mobile laboratories, it would have helped a great deal since they are cheap and effective.

The government gave in to that and gave a tender to School Equipment Production unit ( SEPU) which was to produce the mobile labs at a cost of Sh. 200,000 where each school was required to have 8 labs at a cost of Sh. 1.6m for each school.
