Most Sought High Schools In Kenya . From the Ministry Of Education database, a number of schools have been in the recent past been sought and preferred by many students who intends to join them. It has emerged that learners always submit their preference lists to this schools which happen to exceed the school capacity.
From the report released early this year by the Education CS Ezekiel Machogu indicated that some seven schools had received over 100,000 applicants against their capacities which are barely less than 1,000.
Machogu termed this as lack of proper guidance to the learners during the selection process resulting into bloated applications in one school.

Kabianga Boys
Topping the list was Kabianga Boys High School based in Kericho County which attracted 153,074 applications where it ended up only admitting 768 learners in form one.
Nanyuki High
Second on the list was Nanyuki High School which received 148,827 applications but declared a capacity of 576 learners whom they admitted in the school.
Nyandarua High
Nyandarua High school came in the third position where it also received 137,511 applications but had only a capacity of 240 students who happened to join the institution.
Pangani Girls
Fourth on the list was Pangani Girls High School which also attracted 119,265 learners. The school only managed to pick only 384 candidates only in form one.

Maseno School
Maseno School also came at the 5th position where it also received 105,763 candidates expressing their interest in the school but the institution only managed to pick 720 learners who joined form one.
Alliance Girls
Alliance Girls High School also was not left behind, it also attracted 104,763 learners who wished to join the school. The school only had a capacity of 384 learners who managed to join the institution.
Nakuru High
In Nakuru county, Nakuru High school received 103,909 applications where it only settled on 336 learners being admitted to this noble school.
Kapsabet Boys
Kapsabet Boys also attracted 99,542 candidates expressing their interest with this prestigious and iconic institution where His Excellence, Dr. William Samoei Ruto studied. But since the would not admit all of them, they only gave a chance to 384 learners.
Mang’u Boys
The Nairobi Based school, Mang’u Boys was also not left behind as it also attracted 98,146 applicants but the school only managed to accept 480 applicants.
Butere Girls
Butere girls managed to pick only 768 candidates against 98,146 applicants who expressed their interested into this auspicious and noble school where the first Lady of the Republic of Kenya, Rachael Ruto schooled.

The above schools have in the recent past attracted quite a number of students wishing to undertake their studies from there due to their sterling performance that has seen the school remain at the top over time.
