Saturday was the official unveiling of Rasmus Hojlund to the Old Trafford faithful, and the 20-year-old was met with a tremendous response.

The Danish forward was recruited for a record-breaking £64 million plus an additional £8 million in add-ons.

Given his price and Manchester United’s desperation for goals, he arrives with high expectations.

As a result of an injury, he will have to wait before making his debut, as it has been revealed that he is presently preparing for match fitness.

The preponderance of the forward’s goals for Atalanta were scored in the second half of the previous campaign.

He has tallied six goals in six games for his country.

Hargreaves regarding Hojlund

Many have speculated that he will need time to adjust to the Premier League following his transfer there.

Owen Hargreaves, on the other hand, believes that Hojlund will have no trouble lighting up the Premier League.

Hargreaves stated to the Manchester Evening News that he believes the Dane will surpass the 20-goal mark:

“Erik ten Hag is trying to improve every area on the pitch and if you look at the turn Marcus Rashford took last year and Hojlund – I think he’ll come in and will at least get 25 goals, easy,”Hargreaves enthusiastically praised.

He continued by naming the five individuals who can assist him in reaching 25 goals:

“With the service in behind him with Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, Jadon Sancho, Antony.”

He continued by stating that Hojlund will have far too many opportunities to score for United to fail to do so.

“If you look at Hojlund’s numbers, he doesn’t score goals outside of the box, he’s in the box and that’s what I like – you know, trust the boys to get the ball to you.”

Can he manage?

Despite concerns regarding his lack of goals at Atalanta, Hojlund can undoubtedly dominate in the Premier League this year.

Similar to what Hargreaves believes, we believe Hojlund will have simply too many opportunities to fail.

Consider the number of golden opportunities that Wout Weghorst squandered last season.

There is no reason why he cannot promptly begin scoring goals upon entering the game.

25 may be a lofty objective, but if he plays consistently, he will be given the opportunities to score.
