Sofyan Amrabat, a transfer target for Manchester United, is also coveted by Bayern Munich, who could intensify their pursuit of the Fiorentina star in the coming weeks.

Before the transfer deadline next month, Manchester United could face competition from Bayern Munich for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina.

Amrabat, 26, has just one year remaining on his contract with the Serie A club and has been courted by several of Europe’s best clubs since his World Cup performance for Morocco.

Amrabat is expected to depart Fiorentina in the coming weeks despite the fact that he was not pursued during the January transfer window.

The manager of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, is a known admirer of Amrabat, with whom he worked briefly at FC Utrecht.

Sky Sports Germany has revealed, however, that Amrabat’s representatives are also well aware of Bayern Munich’s need for a No. 6 and that the Bundesliga heavyweights have already placed the midfielder on their shortlist.

The news of rival interest from Germany will be a significant setback for Ten Hag, who hopes to sign Amrabat before the transfer deadline next month.

To accomplish this, however, the Dutchman is aware that he will need to raise additional transfer funds through player sales, as he has already agreed to lucrative deals for Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

Amrabat’s omission from the Fiorentina squad that will compete in preseason games in England this weekend suggests he is inching closer to a move away from his current club.

Also of interest to Bayern Munich is Manchester United transfer target Sofyan Amrabat.

La Viola are scheduled to play Newcastle and OGC Nice in the Sela Cup this weekend at St. James’s Park, and Amrabat was expected to appear until a late Friday change in plans.

On Saturday afternoon, Manchester United are anticipated to introduce Hojlund prior to their own warm-up match against RC Lens.

The 20-year-old Denmark international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for weeks after emerging as Manchester United’s top striker target earlier in the transfer window due to Tottenham’s reluctance to sell Harry Kane.

Hojlund was spotted flying into Manchester on Friday after United agreed to a deal with Atalanta that, if bonuses and add-ons are reached, could reach £72 million.

United have beaten off competition from Paris Saint-Germain to sign Hojlund, who is expected to ink a five-year contract with the Red Devils after completing weekend medical tests.

In the final stages of the transfer window, the Old Trafford hierarchy will focus on getting rid of players who are surplus to requirements.

Fred, Harry Maguire, and Donny van de Beek could all be sold in the coming weeks if suitable proposals are submitted for their services.
