Real Betis is looking for a means to acquire the 19-year-old attacking talent Marcelo Flores from Arsenal, but will need to trade a non-EU player.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Real Betis is attempting to acquire Arsenal’s Marcelo Flores in the current transfer window.

The attacking talent of the 19-year-old has impressed the Spanish club, but it may be difficult for them to free up one Non-EU spot to acquire the Mexican.

Due to limited availability, Spanish clubs frequently struggle to sign athletes from outside the EU.

Real Madrid ensured that a number of their notable Brazilian talents obtained Spanish citizenship, as is the case with some other major clubs.

Similarly, he was reportedly required to renew his Irish passport in order to register him as an EU participant in light of Brexit.

Now, they are considering a move for another non-EU star, Marcelo Flores, who could depart Arsenal on loan.

Mikel Arteta values Flores, as evidenced by his recent comments about the Mexican player.

The Gunners manager stated, “We are aware of Marcelo’s potential and take him into consideration. Now, we must design his career and determine the finest club for his development; this is where we are.

The exceptional 19-year-old attacker for Arsenal is under contract until 2025, giving the Gunners flexibility in determining his future.

In this window, an outright sale is not impossible, but Arteta may find a loan agreement to be more feasible.

Despite several near-misses in recent seasons, Flores has failed to make the first-team squad. He was a star for their younger teams and began as a left-back before switching permanently into offensive positions.

Real Betis are currently interested in acquiring the gifted 19-year-old Arsenal attacker, but have yet to formulate a plan.

Also struggling with their Non-EU quota, the Spanish side anticipates Willan Jose’s departure to free up a spot.

They may have moved to acquire Flores after realizing Tottenham would not sell Giovani Lo Celso despite rumors of a move away.

Ange Postecoglou, the new Spurs manager, desires to retain the Argentine, thereby dash Betis’s hopes of signing him.

Now, they view Flores as a viable option for bolstering their offensive lineup.

The Mexican international can play anywhere in the assault besides the No. 9 position, making him an adaptable outlet.

In addition, the presence of former Arsenal star Hector Bellerin, who returned on a free transfer, could help him settle in at Betis.
