Chelsea concludes a crucial contract with a highly-coveted player
Chelsea has made one of the summer’s most significant acquisitions, despite intense rumors to the contrary.
In an effort to recuperate under Mauricio Pochettino prior to the new season, Chelsea has made a crucial acquisition.
Chelsea is in the midst of a significant squad restructure, with five new players joining the club (Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi, Angelo, and Diego Moreira) and eleven departing this summer.
The Guardian reports that Levi Colwill has signed a six-year contract that will keep him with the club until 2029. Colwill will remain with the organization.
While Colwill’s previous contract still had two years remaining and Chelsea retained an option for an additional year, the Blues have moved swiftly to sign the 20-year-old to a new contract amid rumors he could leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Indeed, Liverpool and Brighton have been extensively linked with Colwill’s signing this summer, with Brighton having a £40 million bid rejected after his season-long loan at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton also desires that Chelsea include Colwill in a deal for their Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo.
After spending the 2021/22 season with Huddersfield in the Championship, Colwill impressed while on loan at Brighton as the Seagulls finished sixth in the Premier League.

Recently, however, Colwill excelled at the U21 European Championships as England won the tournament, heightening rumors that Liverpool would pursue him.
According to reports, Liverpool was keen on signing him, but Chelsea remained adamant that Colwill would not be transferred this summer.
With the £38 million acquisition of Axel Disasi from Monaco, Chelsea’s squad is beginning to come together ahead of the upcoming season.
The Frenchman will presumably replace Wesley Fofana, who suffered a long-term knee injury earlier this preseason, at right centerback.
Trevoh Chalobah could depart for approximately £45 million this summer, following the arrival of Disasi and the extension of Colwill’s contract.

Colwill stood out during the summer as England won the U21 European Championships.
