Axel Disasi is traveling from Monaco to London to conclude his medical examination and transfer to Chelsea.
According to a tweet from CFCPys via transfer correspondent Fabrizio Romano, French defender Axel Disasi is en route to undergo a medical examination prior to joining Chelsea.
The Athletic (subscription required) reported that the Blues have agreed to recruit the defender from Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.
The transfer would cost the club approximately £38 million.
Arsenal and Manchester United were also reportedly interested in signing the 25-year-old.
Therefore, Chelsea’s acquisition of a prospective and versatile defender over league rivals is a tremendous coup.

Disasi is a central defender who can also play right back when necessary.
Wesley Fofana, a player of comparable prominence, was lost to an ACL injury for Chelsea.
