KUCCPS 2023 Most Popular Courses Based On Cluster Points
KUCCPS Most Popular cluster Courses. 2022 KCSE Students are set to apply for their degree, diploma and certificate courses through the Kenya Universities Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) that are offered by the Kenyan Universities.
KUCCPS announced that those students who scored a mean grade of C+ and above will be allowed to apply for their preferred courses based on their cluster Points.
Cluster Points of students are computed by taking the four subjects in each cluster and comparing with that of the best student in a given KCSE examination.
560 undergraduate courses have been listed by the placement service that have been classified into 20 clusters.
Bachelor of Law ( L.LB)
Firstly, Bachelor of laws (L.L.B) has gained more applicants being classified under cluster 1.
Most students have been found to apply more of the business and hospitality related courses. This is evident from the KUCCPS Portal.
Media studies, social sciences, fine arts, graphics and film animations appear at cluster 3 according to KUCCPS portal.
Many students have been seen applying for these courses in these clusters since the cluster Points required are low.
In Law courses many students apply for it because of many slots offered by many of the Universities.
Geoscience
Secondly, Geoscience has been ranked at cluster 4 by KUCCPS and it happens to consist of sixteen undergraduate programs.
Engineering And Engineering Technology
In cluster 5, the placement service has ranked the engineering and engineering Technology and other related courses.
These engineering courses are offered by fewer Universities since it demands for more resources and infrastructure.
The placement service has listed architecture and building and construction and other related course in cluster 6.
From the KUCCPS website portal medicine and health related courses have been ranked at cluster 13 despite the service announcing that the courses were on high demand. The KUCCPS by demand meant that the there are fewer slots are available for students to apply.
Medicine And Health Courses
Considering Medicine and LLB, medicine receives fewer students as compared to LLB since the medicine requires more resources including labs and species. LLB only requires only space and lecturers being the reason why they hold a large number of students.
KUCCPS will lock out students who don’t meet the cluster points making the students go for second revision of courses.
In short, those other courses in other clusters which are more popular include IT, Agribusiness, Actuarial Science, Accountancy, computing mathematics, economics and statics.
