Bruno Fernandes’ honest Assessment of Man United’s Carabao Cup Final vs Newcastle
Manchester United will meet Newcastle in this month’s League Cup final after overcoming Nottingham Forest over two legs.
Bruno Fernandes believes the League Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle will be “enjoyable to watch.”
United last won a trophy in the Europa League in 2017 under Jose Mourinho, and Erik ten Hag has the potential to break the club’s trophy drought on February 26 against Newcastle in the League Cup final at Wembley.
In the semi-final of the competition, Liverpool overcame Nottingham Forest 5-0 over two legs to advance to face Newcastle, who have preserved the most clean sheets in Europe’s top five leagues, later this month.
Newcastle did not win a Premier League game until December of last season, but a Saudi-led acquisition and the hiring of Eddie Howe have sparked a dramatic turnaround that has the North East club challenging for a top-four finish.

When asked about Wednesday’s match against Newcastle, Fernandes acknowledged that it should be a fantastic spectacle.
“For us and Newcastle, it will be a big, big match, the chance to win a trophy, the first of the season,” Fernandes told MUTV.
“It’s a big final with two of the teams who are playing really good football in the Premier League, two teams that are in good form in the league and doing really well. Newcastle have probably been a surprise from last season, for what they are doing this season.
“They have been amazing, so I think it will be a pretty good final and enjoyable to watch. I hope more for us than for them.”
