Chelsea Set for Summer mass exit: Four Stars Marked for Sale as Owner Todd Boehly Plans Ruthless Clear-Out
Chelsea are anticipated to slim out their congested roster at the end of the season.
Chelsea have agreed to listen to offers for four players during the summer transfer window, with co-owner Todd Boehly set to authorize a roster clearout following months of intensive recruitment. The Blues’ lucrative transfer transaction finished on Tuesday night as they signed a British record agreement for Enzo Fernandez moments before the January deadline.
Buoyed by Boehly and Clearlake’s unrelenting spending, Chelsea have paid out more than £500million on 16 new acquisitions and two loan deals since the start of last summer. The Blues are currently 10th in the Premier League with major ground to make up on Arsenal and Manchester City.

Even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, it is reported that manager Graham Potter would be given time to construct a winning squad. The combined transfer fees of Fernandez and Mykhaylo Mudryk, which are little around £200 million, could help turn things around.
They were far from the only high-profile names to join at Stamford Bridge throughout the winter, with the likes of Benoit Badiashile already impacting the first XI.
So many new recruits means that a summer clearout is inevitable, though, and The Guardian believe that Chelsea will be willing to listen to bids for Kalidou Koulibaly, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic when the transfer window reopens.
Koulibaly was only bought last summer but Potter is well-stocked at the back, with new recruit Badiashile offering more depth. Fellow centre-back Wesley Fofana’s injury issues mean that he will also feel like a new member to the group if he returns to fitness.
Aubameyang arrived just a few months ago to hook up with previous boss Thomas Tuchel, but the German was mercilessly ousted days after the summer transfer window slammed shut. With only one Premier League goal this season and Armando Broja’s eventual comeback from injury and Christopher Nkunku’s pre-arranged arrival from RB Leipzig, it seems reasonable that the 33-year-time old’s at Stamford Bridge is limited.
Since joining Chelsea in 2018 from Real Madrid, Kovacic has been a steady presence in the midfield. However, an infusion of recruits in the middle of the park will make things difficult, and if Conor Gallagher and Carney Chukwuemeka advance, he may soon find himself at the bottom of the pecking order.
Pulisic flirted with a Blues escape last month but he is expected to remain in west London until at least the end of the season. The United States international has struggled to nail down a starting berth throughout his four years at the club, while the arrivals of Mudryk and Noni Madueke will only make matters more difficult.
Although the Blues have purportedly placed the four in the shop window, they may not be the only players to go in the summer. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Romelu Lukaku have both spent the season out on loan and it appears doubtful that either will be part in Potter’s first-team plans upon their homecoming.
