5 WEIRD MYSTERIES THAT STILL HAVEN’T BEEN EXPLAINED
Since humans first appeared on Earth, man’s knowledge has grown exponentially. Every year, amazing breakthroughs occur, and thanks to the Internet, even more people now have access to humanity’s accumulated knowledge. There are plenty of unexplained events on our own planet to demonstrate how little we know without tackling the entire universe. Here are a few that have yet to be explained.
1. NATURAL COMBUSTION
This phenomenon is exactly what it appears to be. Some people have suddenly burst into flames for unknown reasons, and in many cases, they have burned so badly that little of them remains. There are several theories, but there is no definitive conclusion or way to determine who is at risk as of yet.
2. THE EXTINCTION OF DINOSAURS
Although scientists are fairly certain of what killed the dinosaurs, They only have theories, which may or may not be true. Because none of us was present when it occurred, it is impossible to know for certain how it all transpired. The most popular theory is that a large meteor or asteroid collided with the Earth, causing a global “nuclear winter.” If that were the case, why did dinosaurs and so many other species perish?
3. ANCIENT PROOF
Experts are baffled by the discovery of a fossilized human handprint and a human finger in the Arctic, which are estimated to be 100 million years old. This is problematic because the best estimates indicate that humans have only been on the planet for about 200,000 years.
4. MANUSCRIPT OF VOYNICH
This strange text was discovered in 1912 near Rome by Wilfrid Voynich, an antique book dealer. The book’s origins are unknown, as is the language of the text contained within. It is written in an unknown language that even the best code-breakers have been unable to decipher. Carbon dating tests indicate that the book was written between 1404 and 1438.
5. STONEHENGE
Stonehenge, one of the world’s most well-known mysteries, continues to confound experts and laypeople alike. Because they are relatively simple formations, how they were assembled is not a mystery. The reason for their construction, however, is unknown.
6. LINES OF NAZCA
In the Nazca Desert of southern Peru, glyphs have been drawn on the ground that resembles a variety of objects such as birds, spiders, monkeys, and flowers.
Because the glyphs can only be seen from a great height above the ground, it is unclear how an ancient culture could create such precise drawings on such a large scale. Scientists believe they were created between 400 and 650 A.D. by people of the Nazca culture. There are several theories as to why and how they were created, but none of them are known to be true.
