2 Students Dies, Several Hosipitalized after Consuming Alcoholic Substance
Tragic news from Karigini Secondary School in Tharaka Nithi, where two students have lost their lives, and others were hospitalized after reportedly consuming alcohol suspected to contain ethanol. The incident has prompted a gathering of concerned parents and neighbors outside the school, seeking information about the affected students.
Local law enforcement, represented by Police officers, has arrived at the scene to initiate investigations into this distressing incident. Area Police Commander Joseph Ole Manei, in a statement to the press, confirmed that multiple students who had ingested the substance were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, two students did not survive.
Reports indicate that a total of 13 students were involved in this incident at the mixed secondary school. As a result, eight male and three female students were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The tragic episode has raised alarm and sparked discussions on social media about the hazards associated with ethanol, particularly in school laboratories.
