147 Candidates Took 2022 KCPE Exam in Hospitals.

In 2022, 147 candidates took the exam in hospitals, compared to 166 candidates in 2021.

However, he singled out 39 candidates with special needs who scored 400 marks or more, compared to only two in 2021.

“The first candidate with special needs scored 419 marks more than the top candidate in 2021 who scored 417,” he said.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu disclosed that 1,233,852 candidates took the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations in 2022.

This year’s top candidate scored 431 out of a possible 500 marks.

At least 9,443 candidates scored 400 or more marks, while 307,756 students scored 300-399 marks, or 24% of all candidates.

619, 593 students earned between 200 and 299 marks.

Two hundred ninety-six thousand, three hundred thirty-six students scored between 100 and 199 out of 500, while seven hundred twenty-four students scored between 0 and 99.

According to Machogu, boys comprised 620,965 candidates, or 50.32 percent of all candidates, while girls included 612,887 candidates, or 49.7 percent.

This,Machogu stated, demonstrated that gender equality had been attained at the primary school level.

Seven students with exceptional needs scored between 400 and 500 points, while 296 students with special needs scored between 300 and 399 points.

Eight hundred thirty-eight students with special needs scored between 200 and 299 marks.

1,270 other students scored between 100 and 199 marks, while six students with special needs received between one and ninety marks.

According to Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Mchogu, around 252 candidates cheated on the KCPE exam in 2022.

The minister stated that the results will earn a score of zero in the subjects in which they cheated.

Machogu stated that the candidates will qualify for secondary school placement “in the spirit of 100 percent transition to basic education.”

A total of 1,233,852 candidates took the KCPE test in 2022, with the top scorer earning 431 out of a possible 500 marks.

On December 21, Machogu announced the results at Mitihani House in Nairobi.
