Police in Bungoma County have arrested 11 students at St Mary’s Kibabii High School for allegedly plotting and attempting to burn a dormitory.
The school principal, Mr Nicodemus Ogeto, informed the police that teachers had noticed had smelt petrol in one of the school dorms.
Following a thorough search, 2 empty water bottles and a half-litre bottle containing petrol were recovered under a bed. 6 blankets had also been soaked in petrol.
Elsewhere, 12 students of Ingotse Boys High School appeared before Kakamega Senior Principal Magistrate after they were found with half-a-litre of petrol in school.
Magoha, who was on a visit at Ogande Girls High School, assured teachers of government support and also assuring them of security during the current wave of unrest in schools
